I would have been even more disappointed, however, had I bought the 1991 edition, which is a totally different game. The first time I ever played the game (in 1987 in Goleta, California), I played the 1977 edition I was disappointed when I bought the game (the 1982 edition which I still have) and things had changed. The rules for the 1982 edition are printed inside the top of the box, which I didn't find out until after I'd found the 1977 rules.
